A Weekend with Ashley Deacon!
Ashley has 20 years of agility experience and has represented the AKC at the FCI World Championships on five occasions with his two Pyrenean Shepherds: Luka and Dash. Together with Luka, he won the overall individual gold medal in 2011 and the overall team silver medal in 2009. Ashley is currently training his 2-year-old border collie, Neve, and they are getting ready to compete.
Ashley is a co-owner and instructor at Golden Gate Dog Sports in San Francisco. In addition to teaching, Ashley is also a UKI judge and course approver and was a designing judge at the 2022 UKI US Open. He loves designing fast, flowing courses with an international theme and promises to challenge your skills and team work.
The weekend will include:
October 20th: 12pm - 4pm - Perfecting Side Changes
This 4 hour workshop is all about mastering side changes! How and when should you use a front cross, a blind cross or a rear cross? Which option will provide the most clarity for your dog and the fastest line through the course?
This workshop will include 6 working spots and unlimited audit spots. Dogs should have at least a basic understanding of jumps and tunnels and be sequencing at least 5 - 10 obstacles at a time.
October 21st: 9am - 1pm - Novice Dog Jumps and Tunnels
This 4 hour workshop is all about novice dogs! With only jumps and tunnels, Ashley will work on building confidence and speed on course. Ashley is excellent at breaking down skills as needed, so if your dog is sequencing only a few obstacles or several, this workshop is for you!
